The initiative, spearheaded by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Lydia Ohenewaa Sarah, aims to significantly enhance access to clean and reliable water sources for residents.
The commissioning ceremonies saw the MCE, alongside the Municipal Coordinating Director, community leaders including the Chief of Kofigya, Nene Keele Wayo Addo Anongor, and representatives from the education sector, come together to celebrate these crucial developments.
Kofigya Receives a Lifeline:
The community of Kofigya, one of the first beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Assembly. Chief Addo Anongor praised the MCE for her swift action, acknowledging that the project materialized within just three months of his initial request. The Headmistress of Kofigya D/A School highlighted the tangible impact, explaining how the borehole will alleviate the challenges faced by students in accessing water for drinking and daily needs.
Addressing the community, the MCE expressed her appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the successful completion of the project and reiterated the Assembly’s dedication to improving the lives of its people. Furthermore, she pledged to support the school through renovation efforts.
Akote Joins the Water Revolution:
The Assembly’s commitment extends beyond Kofigya. A similar commissioning and handing over ceremony took place in Akote, further solidifying the municipality’s water security efforts.
