On Thursday, March 13, 2025, the Supriso Epicenter celebrated its self-reliance milestone with an event that highlighted both sustainable progress and partnership.
A key moment was the handing over of a girl-friendly and disability-accessible facility that houses a CHPS Compond, Vocational Training Centre, a Conference room, and a Micro- Credit Centre.
The facility will serve the epicenter and its surrounding areas, significantly enhancing sanitation conditions and ensuring everyone has access to a safe and dignified space for their needs, guaranteed access to enhanced health care, and vocational training.
On behalf of the Suhum Municipal Assembly, the Head of Works Department, Engineer Michael Danso Anokye stated, “Basic necessities of life fundamental for human survival and wellbeing included food, clothing, shealther and medical necessities. The Hunger project compliments the effort of the Central and De- centralised administration of government through a dynamic center for community mobilisation and action as well as actual facility built by the community”.
He acknowledged the impact the project have had and also praised the Hunger project for their upcoming works within their jurisdiction.
He assured everyone of the Assembly’s cooperation to make the dream of the project a reality.
In his final remarks, he stated that, through the Hunger Project, out of the abundance of water, food, and requisite health care, the Epicenter Area is neither thirsty, hungry or in bad shape.
The Directors of Ghana Education Service and Ghana Health Service also presented solidarity messages.
GES praised the Huger Project for Reduction in teenage pregnancies, and the Health Director spoke of facilities like scan machines for pregnant women and standby ambulance at the CHPS Compound.
The chiefs and people of the Epicenter Area extended the heartfelt gratitude to the Hunger Project -Ghana for their suppor. Together, we continue to create healthier, empowered communities that lead their own transformation.
