In a move to intensify the national fight against drug abuse, the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) has officially set up an operational office in Suhum. The initiative is aimed at reinforcing the agency’s local presence and enhancing its efforts to curb drug-related issues in the municipality.
The Deputy Director of NACOB, Lawyer Twum Barima, paid a courtesy visit to the Suhum Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, to finalize the establishment of the new office. Their meeting marked a key step in operationalizing NACOB’s community-level interventions under its broader national reset agenda.
This new office will serve as a strategic base for NACOB’s activities in the area, providing a platform for more efficient monitoring, outreach, and response to substance abuse challenges within Suhum and its surrounding communities.
MCE Lydia Ohenewa Sarah expressed strong support for the initiative, pledging the Assembly’s full cooperation in tackling the growing threat of drug abuse together with NACOB.
