A Celebration of Community and Care: Suhum was abuzz with excitement as the newly constructed Children’s Medical and Wellness Centre at the Suhum Government Hospital officially opened its doors! This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant step forward in our commitment to providing the best possible healthcare for our youngest citizens.
The project, a testament to collaborative spirit, was spearheaded by the LOVE WITHOUT WALLS FOUNDATIONS, a leading Jamaica/United States-based NGO. Driven by the compassion and vision of their CEO, Dr. Hartford Dawson, the journey began in 2014. Dr. Dawson, witnessing firsthand the overcrowding in the children’s ward, recognized the urgent need for expanded facilities and improved resources.
The Suhum Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah , is proud to have been a part of this transformative endeavor. We extend our sincere gratitude to LOVE WITHOUT WALLS FOUNDATIONS for their unwavering dedication and financial contribution. We also acknowledge the invaluable support of community stakeholders, including Osabarima Nana Kofi Ayeh Opare I, Paramount Chief, whose insights and guidance helped shape this important project.
The commissioning ceremony was a truly remarkable event, graced by the presence of esteemed guests. We were honored to welcome Hon. Natalie Neita Garvey, MP for St. Catherine North, Jamaica, and the esteemed Board Members of LOVE WITHOUT WALLS FOUNDATIONS. Their presence underscored the global significance of this initiative and the power of international collaboration.
This investment will significantly improve the care available to our children, providing them with the medical attention they deserve and helping to combat mortality rates within our community.
