The Suhum Municipal Assembly is delighted to announce the overwhelming success of the National Sanitation Day event held on October 10th! The day saw a remarkable display of community engagement and dedication to environmental cleanliness, with citizens across the municipality uniting to improve our shared spaces.
This month’s National Sanitation Day was a resounding success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of numerous key partners. We extend our sincere gratitude to our Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Lydia Ohenewa  for her unwavering support and leadership in driving this crucial initiative.
The day’s accomplishments were made possible through the vital partnership with:
1. The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for their logistical support and coordination.
2.  The Ghana Police Service for ensuring safety and order throughout the day.
3. The Ghana Immigration Service for their enthusiastic participation and support.
4.  Dedicated students from various schools who demonstrated commendable civic engagement.
5. Valuable stakeholders who provided essential resources and expertise.
6. The hard-working staff of the Suhum Municipal Assembly for their tireless efforts in planning, organizing, and implementing the day’s activities.
The collective efforts of all involved resulted in a significant positive impact, including the removal of a large amount of waste, and education the public on the importance of Sanitation and increased awareness about proper waste disposal practices. This successful event underscores the power of community collaboration and highlights our collective commitment to a cleaner, healthier Suhum.
The Suhum Municipal Assembly remains committed to fostering a sustainable and clean environment for all its residents. We thank everyone who participated and look forward to building on this momentum to achieve even greater environmental improvements in the future.
