The Suhum Municipal Assembly is taking significant steps to improve the lives of its residents through a focused investment in infrastructure projects. Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, recently led a team on a comprehensive inspection tour of both ongoing and previously stalled projects. This proactive approach aims to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximize the impact of investments.
The tour highlighted several key initiatives:
Revitalizing Suhum’s Industrial Hub: A key focus was the designated industrial zone, currently home to an abandoned machinery parts factory and the Phi-beta Vocational Centre. The Assembly is actively exploring strategies to reactivate this important economic engine.
Educational Improvements: Significant investments are being made in education, including the construction of new classroom blocks at Densuso and Suhum Methodist, along with essential sanitation facilities at both locations.
Healthcare Enhancements: A new health centre, complete with staff accommodation and a water facility, is under construction in Kwabena-Kumi, promising improved access to healthcare services.
Other Key Developments: The Assembly is also investing in a new three-story market complex (Phase 1), an NHIS office, and a YEA office, further demonstrating a commitment to diverse community needs.
Hon. Sarah emphasized the importance of this monitoring process in ensuring the timely completion of projects and delivering tangible benefits to the people of Suhum. The Assembly remains dedicated to transparency and accountability in the management of its resources.
