The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum paid a working visit to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) district office, where she was warmly received by the District Manager, Mr. Evans Osei Yeboah, and other staff members.
In his welcome remarks, Mr. Yeboah expressed his gratitude to the MCE for her thoughtful engagement with the Scheme. He acknowledged that while the NHIS in Suhum was making commendable strides in delivering on its mandate, some critical challenges continued to impede smooth operations.
Foremost among these issues was the lack of a dedicated office space. According to Mr. Yeboah, the district office currently operates from a rented facility, which imposes a significant financial burden annually. This situation, he explained, has hampered the installation and optimal use of newly acquired equipment meant to enhance service delivery.
He further disclosed that although the construction of a permanent office complex had begun, work had stalled due to unresolved issues, leaving the project incomplete.
In response, the MCE thanked the NHIS team and other departmental heads present for their dedication to improving public health services in the Municipality. She commended their ongoing efforts and assured them of her continued support.
“I remain available to work with all departments to address any challenges and ensure the delivery of quality services to the people of Suhum,” she emphasized.
The visit forms part of the MCE’s broader initiative to engage with local institutions and strengthen collaborative governance in the Municipality
