The Municipal Assembly has commenced work on a 1.4-kilometer road grading project at Mile 44 under the DRIP initiative.
The project, which spans from the Marshall’s Lodge to the Setsofia Clinic, is expected to significantly enhance accessibility and mobility for residents and commuters.
On Wednesday, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah led a team of officials — including Municipal DRIP Coordinator Mr. Dove Maxwell and the Municipal Works Department to inspect the ongoing works.
The graded stretch is particularly crucial, given that it connects residents to the Setsofia Clinic — the area’s main healthcare facility.
Locals have long complained about the poor state of the road, which becomes nearly impassable during the rainy season.
The project is expected to ease the movement of vehicles, especially taxis and commercial transport, while improving emergency response access to the clinic.
The Suhum Mile 44 road grading is expected to be completed within the coming weeks, weather permitting
