On the 1st of July, 2026 the Suhum Municipal Assembly hosted an Interdenominational Prayer Service to commemorate the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving. The event, held at the Assembly Hall on Wednesday, under the theme “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” saw significant participation from citizens, traditional leaders, and religious organizations. The service featured prayers led by both Christian and Muslim leaders for national unity, leadership, and local development, along with inspirational messages and addresses from local dignitaries, including the Municipal Chief Executive.

In conjunction with the event, the Assembly is reinforcing its ongoing municipal safety reminders, particularly concerning sanitation and flood prevention. Residents are urged to actively contribute to keeping drains clear of waste and debris, dispose of refuse properly at designated points, and report any drainage blockages. The Assembly also advises citizens to contact NADMO services on 0546137777 immediately in case of flooding, structural hazards, or weather-related emergencies, emphasizing the importance of civic responsibility for the community’s well-being and progress.
